It's the season of Advent, and thanks to a gift from my friend Cheryl,
I am reading Paula D'Arcy's Daily Advent Devotions,
Advent: A Time of Hope.
Here are a few lines from today's reading:
"Suddenly the things that seemed so certain prove themselves
to have been stepping-stones not the destination.
Nothing is clear anymore. It's just the path before you,
the particulars of your life and paying close attention to the next turn.
Then you truly know what it is to be a pilgrim on a journey
or a shepherd following a star."
Today's prayer: In the absence of clear direction, be my sight, Dear God.
Fill my heart with trust and hope.
And I scribbled the following response in the margin:
Yes this is where I am...exactly where I am!
"In season"
