Making room...

March 2010

September 2011

October 2011

When we moved here two years ago, we knew the piano would
take priority when it came to space...so, it sits in the
dining room, and all of our "dining" has taken place in the living room,
at a table with two chairs for those sit-down occasions.
It works!

However, over the past few months, our little house has been
rearranged to accommodate some changes in our lifestyle.

Yes, we still eat lots of meals in our laps, watching TV.
But one of the things that was so delightful about my time in Italy
was the way mealtime became a shared experience...an adventure!

So, when Karla and Tenna came soon after I returned,
I created a dining space for three.

Ed and Virginia arrive tonight for a three-day visit,
so, once again, it was time to get creative.
Voila! Table for 4!

I really love how the living/dining room feels now.
It brings back memories of so many good times
sharing meals with friends and family at the table,
together.

It feels like this may have more to do with life expansion
than just the moving of furniture.
Is it possible we're making room for more folks in our life?
I don't know...
but we do have room to invite them to our table.

Bottoms Up!

Brotherly Love

Sawyer loves this little video of Caleb making banana pudding.
He watches it over and over.
I know he misses him.

The Haboob

The Haboob hit while Karla and I were watching
a documentary about the Joplin, Missouri, tornado.

Really!

Needless to say, we did not hear the high winds announcing its arrival.

When the documentary was over, I looked out the kitchen window
and saw a wall of red and heard the roar of the 70 MPH winds.

It was only then that we realized we were in the middle
of a very strange dust storm.

Sure 'nuff!

Swirlit!

Caleb is 7!

And after the cake, the presents, and the multiple launchings
of the Stomp Rocket in the backyard, this picture says it all!
Caleb, you are loved far and wide!
~Happy birthday, sweet boy~

Aspen Jewelry

My friend Karla forwarded this stunning photo
taken by her friend Judy McComb.

Doesn't the Conifer look lovely in the Aspen's leaf-jewelry?
Perhaps Mother Nature is encouraging us to share.
Thanks, Judy!

Sad news...

On June 11th I posted this photo and wrote about a wonderful new author
I had discovered, Ellen Newmark, and our email correspondence.

When I attempted to email her today, I received this notice:
Hello and thank you for writing to Elle Newmark. Sadly, Elle has passed away after a long illness.  She left this life as she lived it: with energy, grace, wit and determination, surrounded by her close family and secure in the knowledge that she is well loved by many friends worldwide.  She will be profoundly missed.

So who's watching the show?

What's wrong with these pictures?

Hi!

In the flow...

Look what greeted me upon my return home
after four inspiring days in Santa Fe!

"Stay Hungry...Stay Foolish"

Steve Jobs' Quote
Stanford University Commencement

Being the non-techy type, I never fully appreciated the genius of this man.

Now that he is gone,
I am in many ways meeting him for the first time.

Thank you, Steve,
for reminding me of what we all know as kids
and so often forget as adults.
It is our God-given nature to be hungry and foolish
the very hallmarks of creativity!
