Turning on the Light

Thanks to our first lady, Michelle Obama, women and men throughout our nation and world tonight are finally exhaling--after holding our collective breath for weeks, thinking it could not possibly get any worse.

Her courage to call it exactly what it is and in doing so, to wake us all up--again--to the reality of this pathetic, sick soul who has stolen the hearts and minds of the confused and fearful, making so much noise and so little sense.

The women who have come forward to tell their truth have awakened truth in women and men throughout our nation and the world who identify with similar incidents that they have for years pushed down and away to avoid the pain that comes with awareness.

And now, there will be stories shared, confessions made, wounds opened, and healing happening because Michelle spoke up--for all of us!

These have been ugly, dark days, and I've not wanted to let it seep into my thoughts or contaminate my spirit.  And yet, I am glad I've stayed tuned in and informed --seeing the darkness darken, yet knowing it cannot ultimately overcome the LIGHT.

And tonight, thanks to Michelle, the LIGHT got turned on real big, and for the forty-five minutes she spoke, the LIGHT prevailed.

We must keep flipping the LIGHT switch, whenever, wherever, and however we can.

Please, watch her speech.
