These photos were taken in May of 2008 when Mother and Daddy were living
on opposite wings of the same long-term care facility in Abilene.
Mother was in the Skilled Nursing Wing, recovering most amazingly
from a fall that had resulted in a broken neck.
Daddy was living in the long-term care wing of the same facility.
So, on the occasion of their 69th Anniversary,
Daddy came "calling" on Mother and we wheeled them down the hall together
to the smiles and applause of residents and staff.
Now, Mother is living in that very same facility.
And I wouldn't be at all surprised
if Daddy came "calling" again,
when the time is right.

According to Susan, Mother is more like her
"old self" today (1/2/13), so Daddy may just have to wait.
