Love in all directions...

 Our dear friend, Linda Walker,
made this beautiful stained glass for us for Christmas.

Study-O Goodness

Blessed!
I like how this photo makes it hard to tell what's inside and what's outside,
with curtains and stained glass "on the bookshelves" and
book covers overlaid on the lampshade, and the photographer
peering from her perch on the lower right-hand shelf.
Watching a sad little part in the movie...God bless him.

God, be with this little buddy of mine in ways I cannot imagine possible.
Keep his precious heart in a safe place and let him always
know that he is loved so very deep and wide
by so many in his circle of family
and friends.
Amen

Just-Caleb Time

 Watching "Mars Needs Moms"
While Sawyer napped, we had our time...sweet!

Today's Walk

A walk in the park is quite different for me when I have company,
especially when it's my boys.

See what they see:

Look, Emmy. I found a GlueStick!
 "Wait for me..."
 "A brick path, Emmy..."
 "A fake leaf..."
 Ballpoint pen guts
 Found but not identified...yuck!
 A metal ring...
 A driveway maze...
 Running for it...

 Tunnel Vision
 "Hewo..."
 "Hewo!"
 While Sawyer works so hard...
 Caleb takes a game-break...
 "Bakket, Emmy!"
 "Blue sky, Emmy!"
 "These are winter flowers, boys."
"What are winter flowers, Emmy?"
"Why, they're flowers that don't even know that it's winter.
They just bloom anyway!"
 Sidewalk Affirmations

 "Tall tree, Emmy..."
Swooooooosh
 Heading home...
"Look, Emmy. It's a miniature tree..."
 Last found object: A screw!
Colorful Caleb!!

Along the Way

This may be one of those days when I multi-blog,
so many things I want to share.

My Nepo-reading today included this quote from Theodore Roethke:
I learn, by going, where I have to go.

Then Mark Nepo talked about walking a path around a lake and being
drawn to a clearing off the beaten path, where they
"lost the urge to go at all"
and
"heard a thread of stream unravel in a song that birds imitate."
Lovely, eh?

But for me, the loveliest part was the meditation following his conclusion that
"it is the path off the path that brings us to God."

Here's the meditation:

~ Center yourself and imagine your life as a path about a beautiful lake.

~Breathe slowly and trace your path to where you are today.

~Breathe deeply and imagine tomorrow's part of the path coming into view.
Smell the unmarked trails.

~As you enter your day, stay open to the unexpected clearings that call to you.

I am so grateful for all the camping trips my family took when I was a child
and for those Rob and I took together in the 80's,
because I know exactly what those unmarked trails smell like!

(Now, wonder what "pictures" will show up today?)
