As with most holidays, when the happiest of days
don't necessarily land on the designated date,
Happy Mother's Day came both early and late for me this year.
April 7th, May 4th, and May 7th were very happy days
for this mother, for reasons that will go unmentioned.
And then...almost a whole week after
our culture-designated Happy Mother's Day,
THIS,
presented to me by Sawyer with a great big smile and instructions
to turn the envelope over, open it and look inside.
I love that he picked it out because of the "roses on the front".
But the sentiments expressed on the front
(beginning with "All through my life")
as well as those inside
("to be true to myself, my values and my dreams")
have made me smile every time I see it proudly displayed on our mantle.
I am indeed One Happy Mother!
