Arrived NYC 10:30PM last night, slept until noonish today!
We had talked about spending today in THE CITY, but we obviously
needed the sleep more than we needed the adventure.
There will be plenty of time for that when we land on THE ISLE.

Today was an experiment in following "next"...
and here's what we found:
and here's what we found:
A wonderful old, artsy movie house in Kews Garden,
a short taxi-ride from our hotel.
a short taxi-ride from our hotel.
We bought tickets for the 5PM showing of "Philomena" and then
asked two different people who were working at the theatre
about restaurants in the area.

The first guy looked at us like we were crazy and said,
"Noop, not much around here."
"Noop, not much around here."
So, I asked Guy #2 who told us to take a left and head
toward Metropolitan Avenue
toward Metropolitan Avenue
where there were several great eating spots.
He highly recommended the new Peruvian place, TU CASA.
Guess whose response we went with.
Guy #2, of course.
I told Rob you always ask more than one person for information,
especially when the first person tells you it's not possible.
TU CASA was exceptional...See!
On the way to the movie house, we stopped at this charming
little gourmet deli and bought an éclair to share later.
The movie was great...we recommend it!
And we visited with several very friendly folks before and after the show.
Go figure!
We found out that this little neighborhood theatre
is a favorite of New Yorkers
because of its consistent offering of the latest Indy/Artsy films.
Who knew?
(See next post for more about the theatre.)

Now, we're back at the hotel at 9PM...in our PJs...Rob watching football...
and me doing...well, this!
Feels somewhat familiar...Best of both worlds...
Life is good...Stay tuned.
