Well, if it's really true that "a picture is worth a thousand words", then I
should have a whole lot to say here! I just returned from a great weekend
in Abilene, where I inadvertently erased all the photos I had taken during
those three days. Hmmm...so here goes:
My forever friend, Kay and I met in Abilene for our annual 24 hour blitz.
We revisited our old college stomping grounds and snapped photos
out in front of Lange Hall. That's us taking turns pointing to the windows
of our dorm rooms, and then that last photo of us together was taken
by a very young, unsuspecting coed who obliged "those two old ladies"
reliving their college days. We also spent an inordinate amount of time
trying to remember the lyrics to the Tri Phi song, the final line of which is,
"We'll always remember Tri Phi."(but apparently, not necessarily the words
to the song!) Fortunately, our dear Tri Phi sister, Mary, was our "lifeline"
and texted us the lyrics to the entire song.(Thanks also to Tri Phi sister,
Linda, an in-town "lifeline" who had earlier attempted to provide the lyrics
but got stuck at the very same place we did; she did offer us Zelda's number.)
Not pictured, but fully enjoyed were our Courtyard Bistro jester, "David";
our Earthbound visit where we were appalled that there were absolutely
no Made-in-America products; and a whirlwind shopping excursion at
Old Navy where K was outfitted with some fine spring ensembles!
That's Mother, Susan, and me playing Bingo at Wisteria,
among many, many other things!
That's Rob, Paul, Susan and me feasting on a wonderful dinner and drinking
from some beautiful stemware, compliments of brother Tim. According to
Paul and Susan, one of the deleted photos was the best photo ever taken of
the two of them, so there was considerable dismay that it was indeed forever
lost. Many re-do attempts were made to even come close, and here's the best
I could do. Aren't they cute?
The Stemware
In the midst of our dinner-time fun, we tried to remember all of the lyrics to
our high school songs. We did great with Abilene High, but Paul could not for
the life of him come up with the Cooper song. So we called another "lifeline",
dear friend Marilyn, who, being the AHS loyal she is, didn't know the lyrics but offered to give me Randy's number so I could call him. By that time, we'd lost interest. So sorry for the crazy interruption, Marilyn. Thanks for being such a good sport!
I am just sick about this one!
It's my beautiful friend, Coco, in her "Hugs-Me-Coat".
Hopefully, she'll have Jim take another photo and send it my way.
