Is it time?

"How will I know when it's time to...?" is a question
that often comes to mind as I feel my way along this new reality.
Today I took several vases, bowls, and cylinders of shells
I'd brought from our house, most of them from Rob's office, and
emptied them into the large vase that held the flowers at his celebration

Somehow I knew it was time.
Souvenirs from so many beach-walks
taken separately and together in our past...
now consolidated into a single piece of memory-art
for my future.

Best Pics for the Day!

 Dad's Beautiful Boys!
(Photography by Shannon)

Father's Day

 Imagine this:
Caleb's room set up with these great props for the boys'
Father's Day Eve Celebration/Presentation of...
 TA-DA!
This whole idea was Caleb's...he thought it, he wrote it, he designed it.
Sawyer assisted with the installation.
Emmy offered financial backing.
In honor of F-Day, everyone wore mustaches, (Zack looked for all the world like Hitler; Shan looked like a beautiful "bearded woman"; and Weston wore his on his chin, Abe Lincoln-fashion), as well as appropriate headware (devil horns for Emmy; top-hat for Sawyer; and flashy newsboy hat for Caleb). Signage was assigned:  "Nerd" for Dad, of course; "I heart nerds" for Mom, of course; the propeller beanie for Weston ( which he held proudly throughout the presentation); and the nerdy pink cat-eye glasses for Sawyer. Glow-in-the-dark balloons were everywhere along with bowls of Whoppers and Lifesavers!
Highlight of the evening:  Dad coming in and out of the bathroom with one hairy look after another, eventually using ALL of the mustaches to create
ONE HAIRY FATHER-DUDE!!
These boys sure know how to throw a party!
(No event pictures available as Emmy was having way too
much fun watching the action to be fiddling with a silly camera!!)

Can you guess who slept in each of these three beds?
And then there was this.
So?

Inside Out

Dear Rob,

I just got off the phone with Zack and I so wish you could be here to see all this goodness that's going on with your boys.  Caleb is loving HIS time with his daddy...watching BACK TO THE FUTURE 1 and 2, and looking forward to #3 tomorrow.  I told Zack I'd help keep the little boys entertained so he and Caleb could have more together time tomorrow.  He was so receptive.  You would just love all the sweetness that's flowing here.  I just have to believe you're getting to enjoy it too.  PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOU ARE...okay?

I'm doing okay...just feeling my way along.  I think you'd be happy for me.  I'll be moving into my new apartment at the Dominion soon.  In fact, I'll be moved in by this time in two weeks.   I think it will feel like a fresh start...a new launching pad...for me to take my next steps...whatever...wherever.

I was in Lowe's today buying a new washer/dryer and I missed you as I walked the aisles remembering all the times we made our trips to Lowe's for our next project stuff.

Father's Day will be so different without you here.  You would be so proud of Zack and the way he's loving on his little guys.  And you would LOVE those little guys.  Weston is so sweet...and learning his way around the world.  He was in his little round-about yesterday gumming on a "cookie".  He has his first teeth coming in "down der".  Sawyer is SO FULL OF LIFE and LOVE and GOODNESS...and he continues to wear us all out with his constant LIVELINESS!!!  May he NEVER lose it...just, perhaps, learn to moderate it.  Caleb is growing UP and is so adorable!  He'll be moving (AGAIN), and I pray his new home will be nothing but goodness.  He'll be a 5th grader next year, and he's SO clever, so bright, so friendly.  Let's pray he finds his PLACE.  We all eventually did, didn't we?

And Shannon...well, what can I say?  She is amazing!  We are all so very blessed.

I miss you.

Love,

Sarah

Eggs anyone?

Mia taught Caleb to make eggs while we were on vacation.
He is quite the egg-chef!
We've had them the past three mornings...yum!
