Seasonal Struggle
The earth is canvas
for competing colors
Umbers and grays and
winter white
Then pastel promises
and sprigs of green
Only to return overnight
to winter’s palette
What a struggle!
Seasons competing for the leading role
The push and pull of
barometric pressure having its way
With my heart and my
soul
Until Rumiel, Angel
of Adar, perspective-giver,
Rises up within me to
join the eagle
In a
bird’s-eye—angel’s-eye—view,
Revealing the panorama
which can never be seen
amidst the vying forces,
And then trailing
after her the loosened chains
That released weary
winter of her last-grip-effort,
Allowing spring to
stay
At last.
