The Turning

'Neath the moon of Sivan

The earth is alive with turning

Spring takes her final turn on the dance floor

Showing off with her fancy May-poling

In and out and back again,

Spinning filaments of gold as she goes.

Fish take a turn toward deep, cooler waters.

Fruit on the vine turns within itself

Ripening flesh that is full to bursting.

The angel Paniel peeks out from ivory wings,

Golden eyes inviting me to turn toward this Eternal Turning,

This gold-spinning Artiste,

And recognize it as the very face of God

Vibrant and vital in its circling energy

Yet always grounded by a vertical stake of assurance

That at the core of all that is God-turned and gold-tinged

There is Tiferet─ Beauty, scarlet-hued,

Pulsing and throbbing, anchoring my soul 

As I am turned and returned again and again

'Neath the moon of Sivan.
